These information sessions provide overviews of new and updated Microsoft 365 features.

new Teams (1-hour)

Discover how to switch to new Teams and explore the ways new Teams can improve your collaboration experience.

These courses are available in Workday, based on a series of hybrid workshops delivered in early 2023.

Learn how OneDrive and other digital tools can support collaboration and communication at UQ.  

Microsoft Teams Overview 

Discover the fundamentals of Teams, including how to chat, collaborate on files, and integrate 3rd-party tools like Trello, Miro, and GitHub. 

Microsoft Team (eLearning – 1 hour)

This training will help staff members familiarise themselves with the various features and benefits of Microsoft Teams and help them adopt Teams in their day-to-day work activities.

Sharepoint Online is the supported option for staff org unit intranets at UQ.

Before undertaking training, please submit an IT request to discuss your intranet requirements.

These monthly lunchtime sessions are hosted by volunteers and focus on developing capability in a specific skill or application.

ITS continues to publish support material on Microsoft 365, focused on UQ users, to complement existing Microsoft support material. 

Examples of this material include:

• Managing notifications (Microsoft Teams, Computer) 

• Dictate in OneNote 

• Transcribe in Word 

• Using Microsoft Teams effectively 

• File storage 

• File sharing 

• Scheduling Assistant (Outlook and Teams, My Bookings)

The Microsoft 365 collaboration suite is central to much of the digital work done at UQ. 

There are two central communities to facilitate adoption of Microsoft 365 and its related applications. 

Microsoft 365 Viva Engage community

The Microsoft 365 Viva Enage community was created to facilitate discussion between UQ staff interested in using Microsoft 365 for their work within and outside of UQ.

This group is suited users of all skill levels and engagement.

Microsoft 365 Change Champions

The Microsoft 365 Change Champions cohort was launched in late 2023 to gather UQ staff who are invested in improving the adoption of M365 at the university. 

The group typically meets monthly to discuss major Microsoft changes and share adoption news from within their respective faculties.
