The Electronic Course Profile System (ECPS) delivers an integrated and distributed web-based system for developing, delivering and archiving all course profiles at the University of Queensland. It draws on existing authoritative data sources, such as SI-net, with course coordinators and designers providing the teaching and learning information directly into the system. It aims to produce consistent course profiles across the University, while also providing enough flexibility to accommodate the variety of teaching and administrative practices in the Faculties and Schools.
The ECPS integrates with mySI-net, Programs and Courses and Blackboard (Learn.UQ) to provide different ways for enrolled students and the public to access course profiles.
Under the UQ Course Design Policy (and other related policies):
- All UQ course profiles are required to be made available to students via the ECPS no later than one week prior to the course offering’s first learning activity.
- Any exceptions must be approved by the Associate Dean (Academic) of the coordinating unit. Coordinating units have the option of setting an earlier date for the release of course profiles.
- Details of resources that will be available in the UQ Bookshop and Library must be made available no later than 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the course.
The ECPS will be replaced by Jac from semester 2 2024, although multi-term courses that commence prior to that term will continue to have their profiles provided by the ECPS until the end of those courses.
The ECPS can be found at www.courses.uq.edu.au.
